The title page, which simply reads "JOANNE."

Described in the colophon as “a novel from the inside out,” Joanne Kyger’s eponymous volume presents brief poetic glimpses of life among the community of peripatetic poets in Bolinas, California. In The Angel Hair Anthology, Kyger describes Joanne as being "very amusing, and often pretty sad. The cover is brighter with a fall Polaroid fashion shoot by Bill Berkson, both of us barefoot in the street."
