Gary Paul Nabhan is an agricultural ecologist, ethnobotanist, and poet working in the American Southwest. His poem “The Seed of a Song” tells the story of his Lebanese relatives’ immigration experience, as well as Nabhan’s encounter with herbal seeds that were passed down to him, and that he too must pass along. Listen to more of what Nabhan has to say about his poem here. This beautiful deckled edge broadside was printed by Mummy Mountain Press in Arizona and features illustrations by Karla Elling.
