Intrepid

Intrepid, nos. 18-19. Buffalo, NY: Intrepid Press, 1971.
Intrepid was a long-running little magazine primarily produced in Buffalo, New York, and edited by Allen De Loach. De Loach had lived in New York City during the formative 1950s and 1960s and had extensive connections in the Beat movement. Here, we show the front cover of Intrepid 18/19, Winter 1971, with a contributor list full of Beat-generation heavy hitters including Charles Bukowski, Allen Ginsberg, Denise Levertov, "and many OTHERS."

Page 70 of this issue includes a poem by Denise Levertov titled "Casa Felice" that, to the best of our knowledge, remains uncollected and otherwise unpublished to this day. A draft appears in a list of unpublished poems among her papers, which are housed at Stanford.
