Telephone, no. 9. New York: Maureen Owens/Telephone Books, 1973. Cover art by Paula North.
Maureen Owens ran the journal Telephone throughout the 1970s using a mimeograph machine at the St. Mark's Poetry Project in New York City. The magazine featured early work by Anne Waldman and Ted Berrigan, among many others. A number of poets whose work appeared in the magazine went on to publish full-length manuscripts with Owens's subsequent imprint, Telephone Books.
