Fact-Simile Editions produces handmade books and chapbooks that interrogate the form of the book, frequently using recycled and reclaimed materials. Hemispheres, Fact-Simile’s most recent production, presents a sequence of poems by Kevin McLellan and is a good exemplar of Fact-Simile’s interest in the creation of arresting book forms. Book objects produced by this press frequently require slow reading and very careful handling: Hemispheres is very tightly bound with nylon thread, and the book’s poems must be opened with enormous gentleness.
