Richard Bigus, who is now an artist and professor at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, produced this masterful rendition of Pablo Neruda’s poem “Ode to Typography” as his MFA thesis at Yale. Taking its cues from Neruda’s grammar, the type changes direction at each period, colon, and semicolon. The geometries that emerge are mesmerizing, inviting both close reading and drifting reverie.
